The Loathly Lady Zine aims to engage in critical folk preservation by examining the gendered themes of six specific folk tunes through custom illustrations and thoughtful analysis.

Each selected tune presents a unique and expansive window through which to frame our modern vision of folk music. The illustrations and tune descriptions provide a jumping-off point through which we encourage you to think about how these stories, passed down through centuries of interpretation and influence, may resonate with your own experiences of gender and tradition.
 
The Loathly Lady Zine will be published by Em-Dash Press, and made in collaboration with The Lift. 

Proceeds from the zine are donated to Refuge Charity.
